Tesla Motors Australia is recalling a total of 2799 examples of its Model 3 sedan as the speed of the vehicle may not be displayed properly when the car is in Track Mode.
This recall affects Model 3 Performance variants sold between 2018 and 2022.
“Due to a software issue the vehicle, when operated in Track Mode, does not display the Unit of speed (kph or mph) correctly,” says the company in its recall notice.
“As a result the driver may not adequately be able to determine the speed of the vehicle.”
If you own an affected vehicle, you’ll need to download an over-the-air software update that’ll fix this issue.
You’ll receive a notification on your car that an update is available and you’ll need to ensure it’s downloaded and installed properly.
If you have any further concerns, you can use Tesla’s recall search tool to confirm if your Model 3 Performance is affected.
